The Khatai Art Centre has held its “Summer Dreams” creative exhibition, showcasing more than 600 works by young artists aged 8 to 21. The event continued the “Connect with Nature, Depict Its Mystery!” project.
The “Summer Dreams” exhibition, held once again at the Khatai Art Centre, aims to draw young people’s attention to nature, bring the beauty of the seasons to life through painting, and raise awareness of environmental themes. More than 900 local and foreign authors aged 8 to 21 submitted nearly 1,300 works capturing the colours and emotions summer brings to nature.
Jury members assessed the submissions based on their relevance to the theme and technical execution. With only one work accepted per author, more than 600 pieces by young artists ultimately made it into the exhibition hall.
The paintings were displayed in rotation by age group on October 27-28, after which authors received certificates at a ceremony held at the Khatai Art Centre. Alongside young Azerbaijani artists, the international event drew teenage and young participants representing Moldova, Türkiye, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, Belarus, Taiwan, Iran and Bulgaria. Works submitted by foreign participants were included in a separate exhibition catalogue, and their certificates will be sent electronically.
Who organised the exhibition
The event was jointly organised by the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery, the Khatai Children’s Art Gallery and the Khatai Art Centre. Support for the project came from the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts, the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Joint-Stock Company, the Khatai District Executive Authority and the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
