Azerbaijan projects 307 million manats in road tax revenue for 2027

Road tax revenue collected through Azerbaijan’s State Tax Service is projected at 307 million manats in 2027, down 27.4 million manats, or 8.2%, from the 2026 forecast.

The figures come from the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027,” which was discussed at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship. Under the draft, road tax revenue collected by the State Tax Service is projected at 307 million manats for 2027.

The projected 2027 figure exceeds the actual 2025 result by 218.8 million manats, or 3.5 times. Documents presented to the committee attribute this sharp increase to structural changes in legislation.

Specifically, the road tax rate has been raised. At the same time, the mandatory medical insurance fee previously applied to petroleum products manufactured for the domestic market and to imported petroleum products has been abolished, with those funds now folded into the road tax.
