A smart agriculture complex called DOST Agropark, under construction in Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district, has attracted $100 million in investment. Once fully operational, the project is expected to create 500 jobs.
The DOST Agropark project is building a smart agriculture complex on 6,000 hectares in Zangilan. Total investment in the complex stands at $100 million, with the site bringing together farm production, livestock breeding and processing of agricultural products based on modern technology.
The facility’s operations include breeding pedigree livestock, producing and packaging meat products, and growing seeds and seedlings. These activities span the entire chain, from raw material to finished product.
What sets the project apart is that the different stages of production are not run separately but combined within a single agricultural complex. This means livestock keeping, processing and packaging are organised as interconnected processes rather than standalone operations.
Backed by private-sector funding and requiring $100 million in investment, DOST Agropark is regarded as a major step in expanding the agricultural sector in Zangilan. Once the project is fully up and running, it is expected to create 500 new jobs.
