Demolition begins in Bine settlement for Bakikhanov-Bine-Gala rail line

Azerbaijan Railways has started demolishing homes in the Bine settlement that fall within the path of the planned Bakikhanov-Bine-Gala railway line. The company says design work on the project is now 30% complete.

According to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, 300 owners of residential buildings, non-residential property and land plots located within the protection zone of the Bakikhanov-Bine-Gala line have been registered. Compensation agreements have already been signed with more than 250 of them, and over 200 owners have received payment. The company said the process is still ongoing.

The project is being carried out under the State Program for Improving Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025-2030. Work to rebuild the Bakikhanov-Bine-Gala line is scheduled to run from 2026 to 2028.

The same state program also covers the reconstruction of three other railway lines: Yeni Surakhani-Hovsan, Zabrat-Mashtaga-Baglar and Garadagh-Guzdek.
