Azerbaijan Railways to restore Yalama, Minjivan and Astara passenger lines by 2030

Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) says passenger train services to Yalama, Minjivan and Astara will be gradually restored by 2030, while the Baku-Khankendi-Baku route opens to passengers next year.

Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC is expanding its passenger routes in stages. According to the company, passenger trains will gradually resume running to Yalama, Minjivan and Astara, with the Baku-Khankendi-Baku route set to open to passengers next year.

In parallel, railway projects are being carried out under the State Program for 2025-2030 aimed at improving the transport network in and around Baku.

Repairs planned for suburban Baku lines

Under that program, several lines near the capital are due to be upgraded, including the stretch between Yeni Surakhani and Hovsan, the Bakikhanov-Bina-Gala line, the Zabrat-Mashtaga-Baglar direction, and the section between Garadagh and Guzdek.

The plan also includes repairs to existing stations along these lines and the construction of new ones.
