Cambodia and Azerbaijan open talks on direct flights

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said talks have begun on launching direct flights between Cambodia and Azerbaijan, speaking at a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet told a joint press briefing with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that the two countries have already started negotiations on setting up direct flights. He said the move is a key part of broadening ties between Cambodia and Azerbaijan.

Hun Manet stressed that the main task at this stage is to deliver concrete results in the areas under discussion. He named cooperation in aviation as one of these priority areas.

He also said Cambodia hopes to see more visits from Azerbaijani businesspeople. Hun Manet added that he was due to meet representatives of Azerbaijan’s private sector later the same day.

The prime minister reaffirmed that the two countries had reached an agreement on establishing direct flights between them.
