Azerbaijan’s oil output rises to 448,000 barrels per day in September

Azerbaijan’s oil production averaged 448,000 barrels per day in September, up 1.36% from August’s 442,000 bpd, according to OPEC’s latest Oil Market Report.

Azerbaijan’s oil output recovered in September after a dip in August, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said in its Oil Market Report. Production had stood at 455,000 barrels per day in July before falling 2.9% to 442,000 bpd in August, then climbing back to 448,000 bpd in September.

OPEC’s quarterly estimates show Azerbaijan produced 454,000 barrels per day in the first quarter, 456,000 bpd in the second quarter and 449,000 bpd in the third quarter of the year.

Separately, Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee reported that the country produced 17.692 million tons of crude oil, including gas condensate, in January-August 2026. That figure is down 698,800 tons, or 3.8%, from the same period a year earlier.

Marketable crude oil output over the same period totaled 17.648 million tons, also down 3.8%, or 701,100 tons, compared with a year earlier.

Export value climbs despite lower volumes

According to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan exported 14.678 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous rocks in January-August this year. The shipments were valued at $9.282 billion.

Compared with the same period last year, the value of exports rose by $886 million, or 10.6%, even as the physical volume fell by 1.247 million tons, or 7.8%.
