ABB’s nine-month net profit rises 34.8% to 352.4 million manats

The International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB) posted net profit of 352.4 million manats in the first nine months of 2026, up 34.8% from the same period last year. The bank said the increase came as revenue growth outpaced the rise in expenses.

According to financial results released by the International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB), traded on the Baku Stock Exchange under the ticker ABBNK, the lender’s net profit climbed 34.8% year-on-year to 352.4 million manats in January-September 2026. The bank attributed the result mainly to income growing faster than costs.

Interest income rose 16.3% to 937.2 million manats over the nine months, while non-interest income jumped 30.3% to 425.4 million manats. Combined, total revenue grew 20.4% to surpass 1.3626 billion manats.

Total expenses, which include interest and non-interest costs, provisions and profit tax, increased 16% to 1.0102 billion manats. As a result, the cost-to-income ratio rose to 1.35 from 1.3 a year earlier.

Assets and lending expand

ABB’s total assets grew 18.3% from the start of the year to reach 16.1176 billion manats by the end of September. The bank’s gross loan portfolio rose 10.9% to 7.8541 billion manats, while net loans, after accounting for reserves, increased 10.3% to 7.1837 billion manats. Even so, the share of net loans in total assets fell to 44.6% from 47.8% at the beginning of the year.

Total liabilities increased 20.8% since the start of the year to 13.7949 billion manats, while total equity rose 5.4% to 2.3227 billion manats. Retained earnings climbed 24.5% to 773.7 million manats.

Dividends and ownership structure

The bank allocated 200 million manats in dividends from 2025 profit, matching the amount distributed the previous year. The nine-month report did not include staff figures, but ABB’s half-year report showed the bank employed 4,075 people as of June 30, 2026, up 2.1% from 3,991 a year earlier.

ABB, which began operations on January 10, 1992, kept its charter capital unchanged at 1,281.3 million manats. The state owns 92.18% of the bank’s shares, with the remaining 7.6% freely traded on the Baku Stock Exchange. The stock’s current market price stands at 0.33 manats, the highest level recorded in the past two years.
