Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov discussed prospects for cooperation on energy transition, energy storage and renewable energy sources with Connor Teskey, chief executive of Brookfield Asset Management.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026). Jabbarov shared details of the talks on his personal account on X.
According to Jabbarov, the two sides discussed potential areas of cooperation and possible projects in Azerbaijan, drawing on Brookfield’s global experience investing in real assets. The discussion also touched on exploring new investment opportunities across various sectors, including digital infrastructure.
The minister said the two sides had assessed new investment opportunities both in digital infrastructure and in other fields within the existing framework of cooperation.
Jabbarov held a separate meeting on the sidelines of the forum with Robert F. Smith, founder and head of Vista Equity Partners. The talks covered Azerbaijan’s potential to attract investment, emerging opportunities in global financial markets, and areas of investment of interest to both sides.
