US President Donald Trump has said he and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have built a relationship based on mutual understanding, describing the bond between them as special.
Speaking to reporters, Trump described the North Korean leader as a friend and said the closeness between them was unlike his ties with other world leaders. He said Kim shows him warmth that few others do.
Trump also suggested he may be the only person in the world for whom Kim holds any real regard, adding that the respect between them runs both ways.
The US president reiterated that his relationship with Kim goes beyond ordinary diplomatic ties between two countries.
