Azerbaijan’s Qaradagh Solar Power Plant has produced 1,488 million kilowatt-hours of electricity since it came online, the Ministry of Energy said, with the figure covering output up to October 1 this year.
The Qaradagh Solar Power Plant, with a capacity of 230 megawatts, was commissioned on October 26, 2023. The facility spans 550 hectares and houses 570,000 solar panels, according to the Ministry of Energy.
The ministry described the plant as Azerbaijan’s first large-scale international investment project in renewable energy. It said the station is contributing to the country’s transition to green energy and to raising the share of renewable sources in electricity generation.
