Some 91.5% of Azerbaijan’s population used the internet in 2025, with the gap between female and male users narrowing from 19.1 percentage points to just 1.4 points over the past 15 years.
The share of internet users in Azerbaijan has continued to rise year on year. According to statistical data, 90.8% of women and 92.2% of men now use the internet, leaving a gap of just 1.4 percentage points between the two groups.
The picture looked very different in 2010, when only 36.5% of women and 55.6% of men had access to the internet, a gap of 19.1 percentage points. Over the past 15 years, the share of female users has climbed by 54.3 percentage points and male users by 36.6 percentage points, sharply narrowing the gender gap.
A similar trend is visible in mobile phone ownership. In 2025, 87.6% of women and 88.6% of men reported owning a personal mobile phone.
The figures point to a steady expansion of access to digital services in the country alongside a shrinking gender divide.
