BakuCard: every fourth ride to cost just 1 qapik

BakuCard and Mastercard have launched a joint campaign under which public transport users in Baku will pay just 1 qapik for every fourth ride on the metro or buses. The discount applies to contactless payments made with Mastercard cards via Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The BakuCard and Mastercard campaign covers passengers who use the contactless (NFC) payment function on Mastercard cards issued by banks operating in Azerbaijan. Under the terms, a passenger who pays the standard fare for three rides becomes eligible for a discount on the fourth, with only 0.01 manat deducted from the card account.

According to BakuCard, the four rides do not need to take place on the same day to qualify for the discount – they can be spread across different days.

A single card can be used to claim the 1-qapik ride discount up to five times per calendar month. Once a passenger completes three rides and earns the discounted fourth ride, that right must be used within 30 days or it expires.
