A new single-span bridge has been built in Azerbaijan’s Garadagh district to replace one destroyed by severe flooding, the Azerbaijan Automobile Roads State Agency has announced.
According to the Azerbaijan Automobile Roads State Agency, the bridge at the 13th kilometre of the Sangachal-Cheyildag highway had been rendered unusable after heavy rainfall triggered flooding in the area. The new structure, built on the site of the old one, has restored traffic along this stretch of road.
The agency said the newly built bridge would make the road more reliable and durable, ensuring the safe movement of vehicles in that direction.
The work is part of wider construction and restoration efforts to repair damage caused by floods and heavy rains to roads, bridges and other road infrastructure in several regions of the country. These measures are being carried out under a relevant order issued by the President of Azerbaijan.
