Turnover on Azerbaijan’s national payment system rose 46% to 862 billion manats as of September, Central Bank of Azerbaijan Governor Taleh Kazimov said.
Governor Taleh Kazimov said the national payment system’s cashless payment indicators also climbed, with card-based domestic transactions now accounting for 69% of cashless payments. He said the figure reflects a rising level of digitalisation in Azerbaijan’s national payment system.
The total volume of domestic card transactions reached 64.6 billion manats over the first nine months of the year, up 8% from the same period last year. Meanwhile, the volume of domestic cashless transactions hit 80 billion manats, marking an annual increase of 11.7%.
Kazimov shared the figures in a statement on the recent performance of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s national payment system.
