Azeristiliktechizat drafts proposals to settle old gas debt

Azeristiliktechizat OJSC chairman Ilham Mirzaliyev says the company is working with three state bodies to resolve gas debt accumulated in previous years, while current gas payments are being made in full.

According to Ilham Mirzaliyev, chairman of Azeristiliktechizat OJSC, the company is preparing joint proposals with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the Ministry of Finance to address the gas debt carried over from previous years.

Mirzaliyev said that in 2025 the country’s heating utilities used 191 million cubic metres of natural gas worth 31.5 million manats. They paid 32.3 million manats for this gas, which amounts to 102.6% of the gas’s value.

He added that over the first nine months of this year, heating utilities consumed 145.6 million cubic metres of gas worth 24 million manats, and this amount has been paid in full. By the end of the year, gas consumption is projected to reach 196.4 million cubic metres worth 32.4 million manats, and this sum will also be paid in full, he stressed.
