A new sports complex called “Ski Center Baku” has opened in the capital, offering skiing and snowboarding training regardless of the season.
Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov, Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation President and Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad Naghiyev, and other officials attended the opening ceremony.
The complex covers 2,800 square metres and features three “MaxxTracks” training slopes and an “Olympus SkyTech” simulator. The equipment will allow visitors to ski and snowboard at any time of the year.
The centre is designed for both beginners and experienced athletes, with lessons to be led by professional coaches. Plans also include introductory programmes for schoolchildren, training groups and coaching seminars aimed at drawing young people into winter sports.
The project aims to expand training infrastructure for winter sports in Azerbaijan and help develop new athletes.
