Under Azerbaijan’s Great Return program, 70 families have been resettled in the city of Aghdam and 8 families in Khojavend district’s Guzeykhirman village, returning them to their native lands.
Azerbaijan is continuing to resettle residents in territories liberated from occupation on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev. In the latest stage, 70 families totaling 238 people have moved to the city of Aghdam, while 8 families comprising 34 people have been resettled in Guzeykhirman village in Khojavend district.
The resettled families had previously been housed in temporary accommodation across various regions of the country, mostly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings. They have now returned to their native lands and settled there permanently.
Residents moving into their new homes thanked President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the state support shown to them. They also expressed gratitude to the soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Army who liberated the lands from occupation, and paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs who fell for this cause.
