Azerbaijan’s U-15 national football team lost 4-2 to Vietnam in Division C of the FIFA U-15 World Championship and Festival, which is underway in Baku.
Head coach Famil Khalilov’s Azerbaijan U-15 side played their latest Division C fixture of the tournament against Vietnam, going down 4-2.
In their earlier Division C matches, Azerbaijan lost 3-1 to Chile but bounced back with wins over Gibraltar (5-1) and Mozambique (4-1).
How Azerbaijan reached Division C
The national team began the tournament in Group AF, where they beat Timor-Leste 6-0, Andorra 1-0 and Israel 3-1. They also suffered defeats to Australia (3-1) and Haiti (4-0). Those results left Azerbaijan third in the group with 9 points, enough to secure promotion to Division C.
