Azerbaijan to allocate 4.9 billion manats for social protection in 2027

Azerbaijan’s draft 2027 state budget earmarks 4 billion 913 million 986 thousand manats for social protection and welfare, 41 million 28 thousand manats or 0.8% more than this year’s approved 4 billion 872 million 958 thousand manats.

The volume of funding for social protection under next year’s main financial document — the draft Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027” — has been determined. Under the draft, spending in this area is split into two main categories.

Of the total, 537 million 955 thousand manats is earmarked directly for social protection measures. The remaining 4 billion 375 million 636 thousand manats will go toward financing the operations of other institutions and various programs related to social protection and welfare.

The draft also reflects an adjustment aimed at maintaining the financial balance of the State Social Protection Fund. Transfers from the state treasury to cover the Fund’s obligations are set to be reduced from 1.7 billion manats to around 1.6 billion manats.
