Azerbaijan sold 272,500 tons of crude oil and oil products to Switzerland worth $193.6 million in January-August, according to the State Customs Committee. The value was 3.6 times higher than a year earlier, making Switzerland the third-largest buyer of Azerbaijani oil in the period.
Azerbaijan’s oil exports to Switzerland have risen sharply this year, State Customs Committee foreign trade data show. In the first eight months, the country shipped 272,500 tons of crude oil and petroleum products extracted from bituminous rock to Switzerland, with a market value of $193.6 million. By comparison, the figures for the same period of 2025 stood at just 89,700 tons and $53.9 million.
That means export revenue from Swiss sales grew by $139.7 million, or 3.6 times in actual terms, while the physical volume increased by 182,800 tons — nearly a threefold rise. The surge pushed Switzerland into third place among buyers of Azerbaijani oil over the reporting period.
Azerbaijan’s overall oil exports also showed positive momentum. Over the eight months, the country sold 14.678 million tons of crude oil and oil products to foreign markets, generating total revenue of $9.282 billion.
According to the State Customs Committee, that figure was up $886 million, or 10.6%, in value terms compared with the same period of 2025. However, the total weight of oil sold fell by 1.247 million tons, a decline of 7.8%.
