Azerbaijan to Host ITMF Annual Conference in 2030

Azerbaijan will host the annual conference of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) in Baku in 2030.

Farida Akhundova, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Textile Association (ATA), who is currently on a business trip in Brazil, shared the news.

Bringing the conference to Baku was the result of the Azerbaijan Textile Association’s efforts. According to Akhundova, the association worked towards this goal for a long time.

What ITMF is and why it matters

ITMF is one of the oldest international organisations in the global textile industry. It was founded in 1904 in Zurich, Switzerland, and has been active for more than 120 years. Its headquarters have been in Zurich since 1963.

ITMF’s members – national textile associations, associations from related sectors such as fibres and textile machinery, and individual companies – together account for an estimated 90% of global textile and apparel production. In other words, the federation brings almost all of the world textile industry’s key players together on one platform.

The federation’s annual conference is held in a different country each year. In recent years it has been hosted by the national textile associations of the host countries: in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in 2024 and in Indonesia in 2025. The 2026 conference is taking place on 13–14 October in Fortaleza, Brazil, together with the International Apparel Federation (IAF), hosted by the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT).

About ATA

The Azerbaijan Textile Association was established in 2018 to bring together companies engaged in cotton and textile production in the country. The non-profit association became a member of ITMF in March 2026.
