Swedish clothing retailer H&M is entering the Azerbaijani market, with its first store set to open at Ganjlik Mall in Baku on October 17, 2026.
H&M will launch its first retail outlet in Azerbaijan at noon on October 17, 2026, at Ganjlik Mall. The opening marks the practical rollout of a plan the Swedish retailer had previously announced under a franchise agreement with Sintex Group of Companies to enter the Azerbaijani market.
The new store will span two floors and cover a total area of 2,153 square meters. It will offer women’s Ladies and Divided lines, men’s and children’s collections, as well as H&M Move, the brand’s sportswear range.
Linn Hoffström, who heads H&M’s franchise division, said Azerbaijan is seen as a promising market for the company and that, working with Sintex, the goal is to build a business model that will last for years to come. She added that the team is eager to make fashion accessible to everyone while creating inspiring shopping experiences.
Piotr Kucharski, H&M’s executive in charge of operations in Azerbaijan, said the opening marks an important milestone in building closer ties with local consumers.
Ganjlik Mall was chosen as the venue because of its easy transport access and because it brings together retail, dining and leisure options under one roof.
The opening ceremony will begin around noon with an official ribbon-cutting. H&M has prepared special surprises for the first 100 guests who line up outside the store.
H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB was founded in Sweden in 1947 and is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchange. Sintex Group of Companies, which has operated in the retail sector since 1996, represents more than 100 global brands across the Caucasus and Central Asia and manages nearly 120 stores in the region.
